My 3 y.o. magnolia tree has tiny white specks, evenly spaced, all over it's woody branches.?

I don't know if this is normal since I never looked at it that closely before, or if it's got a disease. The white specks do not rub off. It flowered with lots of blooms, but it's taking a very long time for it to develop it's leaves. What do you think?

Hi:

I am a landscaper and designer and also have planted Magnolia's for clients as well as owning a Magnolia. The white specks on your branches are part of the trees make up. It is normal to have natural white specks. If you look close, there is also a tint of yellow specks.

Some times the leaves will develop on Magnolias after they have bloomed. This is also natural. If you look at your Magnolia tree, you will see the size of the bloom is big compared to the bud of a leaf. As long as it is getting water, you should be fine.

I will link you to the variety of more plants section, as there is a page on Magnolias. I will also link you to the site map, as this page has everything that is on the website. There are articles, tips and techniques that may give you some more information. Have a great day!
