What does evrybody think of the film "Magnolia"? What do you make of what happens?

It is one of my all time favourites, and I take something different away each time I watch it, but is the ultimate meaning of the film; sometimes these things DO just happen, get on with your life?

What does evrybody think of the film "Magnolia"? What do you make of what happens?
Magnolia is one of my all-time favourite movies, and yet I've only ever seen it twice! (I find it too emotionally demanding. I mean, c'mon, two cancer sufferers?!!)

I think the faux-documentary intro is staggeringly original, and the collection of fine performances rivals even the great Glengarry Glen Ross.

And, unlike Crash (but similar to Short Cuts), the multiple plot strands seem natural and not contrived.

The movie also got me into Aimme Mann in a big way (and her Bachelor No. 2 LP, in particular). In addition, the film also contains two (count them, two!!!) Supertramp songs - which is a treat.

The most poignant aspect for me though was how exhilirating I found the film. The experience is so similar to viewing Goodfellas, but because the subject matter concerns banal 'real-life' issues (family, sickness, etc), and not gangsters, people don't think about the technical virtuosity that Magnolia so obviously excels in.
Reply:I only saw it once and was a little freaked. It's one of those movies like Crash, which has a million characters and every character has a different story. I really didn't get it. The only thing clear is that Tom Cruise is a talk show host who talks against women.
Reply:I've seen it.. I thought it was weird .. I dont really recall the story but I do remember the rain of frogs - that was neat!
