Why is my magnolia trees leaves curling up and going brown,i water and feed reguly?

Could be you are giving them too much water as these trees originated from a hot dry climate. A lot of plants from hot countries are finding their way into our gardens and most of them tell you only water when soil is dry.

Is it newly planted? If it is, is it in direct sunlight? If you are in the south, it's really hot right now, and having a new one in this heat is probably why. Just keep at it and make to put a fertilizer mix near the base. Good luck. If the tree is old, check the stems for any lichen or bugs that may be draining nutrients.
Reply:Excessive heat may be the problem.
Reply:maybe you're giving them TOO MUCH water???
Reply:Its this weather
Reply:cause you assult your trees by calling them "REGULY"--wow that was just harsh to call them that!!!
Reply:To much water will burn the leaves from the inside in bright sun light so maybe you should cut down a bit
Reply:No, I don't think....I know you are giving it too much water.
Reply:that's the nature of the magnolia tree,it's only good looking when it blooms .The city that I live has magnolia trees all over and they're all brown, pretty ugly trees let me tell you.
