Reply:The Magnolia tree is native to the South East part of the U.S.

It thrives best in very warm, humid climates, altho it also will survive in colder climes. While it is not considered a hardwood, it is harder than pine, and does contain a lot of sap, so that when it dries, it seems very hard. The flowers are large, white, and very fragrant. Duting the days of the plantations, it became customary to plant Magnolias around the mansion, to give off the pleasing aroma, that has been termed as soothing.
