Magnolias originate from Chinese cool hillsides.More flowers are produced if planted in neutral/acid soil.Not too much direct sunlight,not too much wind exposure.Do not plant in too dry position,but definately no winter waterlogging either.
Ideal climates are Ireland and Britain moist summers and moderate winters.
