What is your opinion of the baby name "Magnolia" for a girl (with the nickname Maggie)?

Be honest. Is it unusual in a cool way, or unusual in a weird/bad way?

What is your opinion of the baby name "Magnolia" for a girl (with the nickname Maggie)?
It's different. I don't like it, nor dislike it. If you like it, go for it!
Reply:Unusual in a bad, tacky way.
Reply:wow...thats really cool, and i'm super picky with baby names, i don't think it's weird/bad at all. just don't do that crazy spelling thing (MaegKnowleigha)

i think it's classy sounding.
Reply:Love it!
Reply:It's unusual in a weird way. If you want Maggie as a nickname try Megan (Meggie or Meg for the nickname). Good luck and congrats!
Reply:It is literally cool!!!!! Magnolia here is Magnolia Ice Cream :) Besides, it's the pure white flower.
Reply:I don't like it at all.. It reminds me too much of Steel Magnolias the movie. Why not just use Maggie?
Reply:It is an ok name. But what happens when she grows up and hates magnolias because people keep giving it to her on her birthdays, and dates.
Reply:Ermm.. that name reminds me of the movie called "Steel Magnolias". I think it's a strong name for a baby girl. I like the name "Maggie" or "Abigail" better :-)
Reply:I like it a lot whats the middle name going to be? I like cool names My sons name is Zequal
Reply:I love the name...never would have imagined it being a name, but that doesn't mean it isn't great. I actually like Madison or Madelyn as middle names for Magnolia. I think they flow well together.

It's an English name....it hasn't broken the top 1000 name list since the 1930s.
Reply:ummm...i don't like it
Reply:I personally don't like it.

Reply:don't like it, can't stand Maggie, sounds strange,

" hi I'm Magnolia."

could depend on the last name I guess. but by it self its not on my list.
Reply:I love it! I'm totally into different names.. I don't personally care for Maggie though.. I once knew a little girl named Margoux(prnounced Mar-go).
Reply:I'm usually a fan of flower names, but this one just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know, it just doesn't sound too feminine, and the 'mag' part seems awfully harsh....
Reply:Yucky.
Reply:no, it's not a popular name here. and yes, it's a brand of ice cream. in my opinion, there's a lot more options to choose from. but if u insist this name, give her a nicer nickname, not maggie, please.. (maggi is a noodle %26amp; seasoning brand here). i think Lia is more sophisticated and smart-sounding.
Reply:Magnolia is a good name.

My teacher is named Magnolia too and we sometimes call her Maggie. And the name Magnolia is creates executive ambitions, we emphasize that it causes an emotional intensity that is hard to control.

But if you are named magnolia, you have a generous side to your nature as well, and like to share what you have with others.

So I love the name...so is my teacher who is also a friend.
Reply:Magnolia is a flower. Named after a guy. and somehow Milk of Magnesia comes up. I know this seasoning called Maggie. I ate it with all my food when I was a little kid. But Maggie sounds better than Magnolia. Kids will tease her and call her Magnet!
Reply:It woudl be fun if you had lilly Rose/Rosemarry lavender and such to go with it...but just one flower name nah
