What is the best time of year to plant a Magnolia Tree?

For southwestern Ontario.

What is the best time of year to plant a Magnolia Tree?
spring to early summer is the best...if the magnolia is potted or B%26amp;B (balled and burlaped) any time is fine..but if the temps are above 80 degrees, make sure you water
Reply:Doesn't it tell you that on the back of the package? Right off the bat, I'd rule out winter since things don't grow very well in the cold.
Reply:The best time to plant magnolias is in early spring, before new leaves start to grow. They grow well where temperatures do not usually go below 10oF. They do best in soil that is slightly acid and well-drained.
